A degree in Accounting prepares you for a variety of careers. Many people choose to enter public accounting as either an auditor or tax consultant. These positions are available in firms of all sizes—from large multinational firms to small local firms.

Others choose to enter industry and work as general accountants, controllers, treasurers, tax managers or internal auditors. Governmental agencies employ a number of accountants at the local, state and federal levels. More than 30 employers currently recruit Baylor Accounting majors.

Learn more about the 58:10 Project, an initiative by Baylor Accounting faculty, staff and students to prepare 100,000 meals in three hours for food insecure individuals in the Waco area.

Baylor University’s 2024 senior class has selected Lotte Bostick, J.D., CPA, assistant clinical professor in the Department of Accounting and Business Law at Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business, as the 2024 Collins Outstanding Professor.

Accounting Society Pushes Through Chartering Process, Aims To Kick off Next Academic Year

The Accounting Society is currently in the process of being chartered and aims to be official for the next academic year. Sophomore Caleb Brown, who will be the president of the Accounting Society, came up with the idea for the society in hopes of immersing students in accounting outside of the traditional classroom setting.

Professor Helps Accounting Research Catch Up With a Fast-Changing Economy

Phys.org: Paul Mason, associate professor of Accounting and Business Law, is a co-author on a new paper "Understanding Private Equity Funds: A Guide to Private Equity Research in Accounting" in the Journal of Financial Reporting that is intended to guide scholars through the institutional features that set private equity apart from other asset classes, and the novel research opportunities that arise from those differences.
