2009 Big 12 Case MBA Competition


3rd Annual Big 12 MBA Case Competition
Waco, Texas
April 2-4, 2009
MBA programs from the universities in the Big 12 Athletic Conference compete annually in a case competition. This year, the two-day competition was hosted by Baylor. Upon arrival, the teams of four MBA students were given a case written specifically for the competition. The students had less than 24 hours to analyze the situation, research the possibilities, propose ideas, and prepare a presentation. The company used for the case competition was DMX. www.dmx.com
This year's competition was a great success. Thank you to all who attended and helped make it successful. Before the presentations began on Saturday, April 4, the teams were randomly assigned to either Division A or Division B. The following individuals and teams placed at the top of the very competitive field:
First Place - Oklahoma State University
Second Place - Kansas State University
Division A Runner-Up - The University of Oklahoma
Division B Runner-Up - The University of Kansas
Best Sportsmanship Award - Iowa State University
Best Presenter: Division A - Raef Wyatt, Baylor University
Best Presenter: Division B - Richard Smith, The University of Kansas
Best Q&A: Division A - Nick McCann, Iowa State University
Best Q&A: Division B - Katie Matthew, Kansas State University
Most Valuable Player - Katie Matthew, Kansas State University
