Baylor > Bush Library Proposal

In July of 2005 Baylor University was invited by the White House to submit a proposal to host the Bush Presidential Library.

The idea for the Bush library on the Baylor campus, however, was generated while George W. Bush was governor of Texas. There was talk that he would likely be the nominee for the Republican party. Then Baylor president, Robert Sloan, called the governor and told him that if he became the next president of the United States, that Baylor would love to host his presidential library.

This site tells the story in words, pictures and documents, of Baylor's journey from 2000 to 2005 in its bid for the Bush Library. We invite you to explore the links to the left to read the history and view the proposal.
