Building InformationBaylor University officially dedicated its world-class science teaching and research facility - the $103.3 million Baylor Sciences Building - on Friday, Sept. 24, 2004.
The 508,000-square-foot Baylor Sciences Building consolidates the science disciplines of chemistry, biology, geology, physics and neurology, as well as most of Baylor's prehealth programs, and houses a complement of 31 classrooms and lecture halls, 153 teaching and research laboratories, and faculty, graduate student and administrative offices.
The Baylor Sciences Building also includes five multidisciplinary research centers on Prehealth Education, Drug Discovery, Molecular Biosciences, Reservoir and Aquatic Systems Research, and Scientific Analysis and Computing.
Since the inception of planning, a major goal for the Building has been to build bridges between the science departments and promote multidisciplinary teaching and research.
Building Hours:
Monday-Saturday 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.; Sunday 1:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Extended hours may be granted for traditional campus-wide events, such as Homecoming and Diadeloso. Approval to be in the Baylor Sciences Building beyond normal building hours must be requested in advance at least fourteen (14) days prior to the event. Because of the heavy use of this facility, it is impossible for building personnel to grant this type of request during the time the event is actually occurring .
