January 26, 2017
Baylor University was named one of the 100 “best values” among private universities, according to Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, which released its latest list of the Top 300 Best College Values of 2017 in January. For its affordability and academic quality, Baylor earned the No. 64 spot on the list of private universities.

“We are honored to be acknowledged again as a Best Value by Kiplinger’s,” said Baylor Interim President David E. Garland. “Baylor provides an outstanding education infused by academic excellence, with all the resources and benefits of a research university and a caring Christian community where faculty members know each student personally and care about their success. We remain firmly committed to helping students from all financial backgrounds achieve their dreams of a first-tier education, especially through building our endowed scholarships. By continuing to increase the level of scholarship support we provide to students, we can preserve the value of a Baylor education for generations to come.”

Kiplinger’s quality measures, which are weighted more heavily than cost, include the admission rate, the percentage of students who return for sophomore year, the student-faculty ratio and the four-year graduation rate. At Kiplinger.com, visitors have access to the “Find the Best College for You” tool and complementary tools that let readers sort all ranked schools by admission rate, average debt at graduation and other criteria.
