Baylor University Press Continues Legacy of Producing Top Scholarship

Established in 1897, Baylor University Press has published books in the fields of religion and Biblical studies, contributing faithfully to the body of scholarship for well over a century.

As an academic publishing house, the press finds manuscripts that fit its target audience and crafts them into coherent, top-quality pieces of scholarship that are read by students and academicians worldwide.

“As a university press, we are first and foremost a servant to our institution and to the academy. We stay true to the mission and values of the University,” said David Aycock, Baylor University Press marketing and sales manager. “We, as a press, are proud of the name Baylor. We consider it paramount to provide a list of books on which the University can brand its name through our press on top scholarship that is being utilized worldwide.” Publishing 30 to 35 books each year, the press has become increasingly well-known and respected for producing top scholarship in religion and Biblical studies.

They have established themselves, at least in the study of religion, as a major player,” said Dr. Beverly Gaventa, distinguished professor of New Testament and published author with the press.

Reflecting the quality of the literature the press seeks to produce, books are printed on the finest paper, using premium binding techniques available for academic printing. Building books to last a hundred years, the press seeks to further Baylor’s global and lasting footprint in academia.
