Bingzhi Yang, M.D.
Dr. Bingzhi Yang is director of molecular diagnostics for the Institute of Metabolic Disease at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. She received her M.D. from Henan Medical University in China in 1968 and completed a clinical fellowship at Henan Medical University Hospital from 1973 to 1975. She served as head of the division of hematology and radiation disease at the Institute for Occupation Diseases in Henan, China, from 1976-1984. She received molecular genetics fellow training at the National Institutes of Health in 1984 and from 1987 to 1995 served as research associate at Duke University Medical Center, Division of Genetics and Metabolism, Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Yang has authored more than 40 published articles, book chapters and abstracts, and given numerous presentations at national and international meetings. Her research interests include the molecular defects of fatty acid ¯-oxidation deficiency and new approaches for molecular diagnosis and gene therapy.
