Didactic Portion

The didactic portion of the student's program will be on the Waco campus, which normally will be during the first two academic years for the Ph.D. and one or one-and-a-half academic years for the M.S. Under normal circumstances for the Ph.D., the student will take nine or 10 semester hours each semester for four semesters, constituting the first two years. After successful completion of the Ph.D. preliminary examination, the student then will enroll full time either at Baylor Research Institute or at Baylor University to carry out the research leading to the Ph.D. Students enrolled in the master's program will either transfer to Baylor Research Institute in Dallas to carry out the research for the M.S. thesis or will remain at Baylor in Waco to conduct the research in residence after the academic course work has been satisfied.

Financial: Laboratory teaching assistantships and/ or research assistantships are available. Tuition remission fellowships also are available to cover up to the normal academic load of 10 semester hours for each of the fall and spring semesters with a maximum of 20 semester hours.

Fellowships: A limited number of fellowships is available to outstanding students without teaching or research responsibilities. These fellowships are awarded on a competitive basis.
