  • FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS REGARDING BASKETBALL RE-SEATING

  • Why are we re-seating basketball? Men's and women's Basketball are going through the re-seating process to provide the best seats available for your level of financial support.
  • What are my donations to the Bear Foundation used for? Donations received by the Bear Foundation are used to fund scholarships for student-athletes.
  • Are you re-seating the entire Ferrell Center? No. We are re-seating our premium seating sections. (Courtside and rows 1-15; rows 16-20 in sections 113, 123, 101, 103).
  • What do I need to do to keep my current seats? Current premium seat holders at a minimum of $3,000 for women's basketball and $9,000 for men's basketball are guaranteed their current seats regardless of their priority points. An individual at this level must also make sure they are covering their seat options for all sports.
  • Is there a deadline to have my pledge in to be considered in the re-seating process? Yes. April 30, 2012, is the deadline date.
  • If I am a member of the Bear Foundation, do I have to pay seat options in addition to my membership? Your Bear Foundation membership counts toward your seat options, AND seat options count toward your Bear Foundation membership. If your seat options total more than your Bear Foundation membership, you will need to pay the difference thereby increasing your Bear Foundation membership.
  • What is the priority points program? The priority points program is the mechanism to rank donors when benefits are allocated.
  • Does my Basketball Club Membership money count towards my seat options costs? No, however, you are credited points within the priority points system.
  • How are priority points used in the re-seating process? Annual giving levels within the Bear Foundation (beginning with the highest level and working down) will be used in the re-seating process. Priority points are then used within each level to determine ranking within each level.
  • How will my giving record to Baylor benefit my order in the re-seating process? Only athletic giving is counted in the priority points system. Calculations for the points system began on January 1, 1997.
  • How will the re-seating process work? You will be notified with a date and time according to our priority points system when you can personally select your seats. Re-seating is scheduled to begin in early September 2012.
  • Can I purchase additional seats? During the re-seating you may select the same number of seats you held in the 2011-12 season. After the re-seating process is completed, you may purchase additional available seats based on the priority points program.
  • What if I want to sit with other people whom I've sat with in previous years? Donors who wish to sit together must mail orders together and request adjacent seats. If the priority of the persons differ, the lower membership level and point total of the group will determine the order in which you will be able to select your seats.
  • Can I pay the minimum seat options and still obtain premium seats? Yes, although the location of your seats will depend on demand with the re-seating process.
  • What happens if someone selects the seats I have had in the past? If a member who has earned a higher number of priority points than you has an opportunity to choose seats before you and they select your seats, you will then be able to choose from whatever is available when it is your turn to select your seats.
  • When will the re-seating process begin? The re-seating process will begin in early September, at the Ferrell Center. Additional information regarding the exact dates and time will be sent to you in mid-August.
  • How long will I have these seats once the re-seating process is complete and the new season begins? Our plan at this time is to re-seat basketball every three years; however this is subject to change.
  • Is there an expectation for me to remain at the same level in future years in order to keep the seats I will have for the 2012-13 season? Yes. You will be required to maintain the same level that helped you get the seats.
  • Do other Big 12 schools have a priority points program? Yes, every Big 12 institution has a priority points program in place to utilize when making season ticket assignments.
