Clery Act
Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act
In 1991, the U.S. Congress passed the Student Right-To-Know and Campus Security Act, which requires colleges to report the three previous years of statistics on murder, sex offenses, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, and motor vehicle theft, and statistics on arrests for drug and alcohol violations and weapons violations. In October 1998, President Clinton signed an amendment renaming the act the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and requiring that all crimes motivated by hate or bias be included in the statistics.
Baylor University Annual Campus Security Report
Pursuant to federal law, all currently enrolled students, campus employees, and all prospective students and prosective employees are entitled to request a copy of the Baylor University Annual Campus Security Report.
The report contains crime statistics about certain specified crimes/incidents that have been reported to Campus Security Authorities over the past three years and that have occurred either on campus, in off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University, or on public property adjacent to campus. These statistics are available at the Campus Crime Statistics web page.
The report also contains policies and practices pertaining to campus security, crime reporting, alcohol and drugs, victim's assistance programs, student discipline, campus resources, community safety alerts, crime prevention, and access to capus facilities/properties as well as personal safety tips. The report encourages the reporting of all crimes. The report tells how and to whom to report crimes.

This information is available to all current students and employees of Baylor University, and, upon request, to any applicant for enrollment or employment. Information is provided pursuant to the disclosure requirements of the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990 and the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act Amendments of 1989.
The Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act specifically requires that crimes which occur on the campus be reported to the Baylor community.
