Art - Graphic Design Lab

The Art Department recently opened a Graphic Design Lab in the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center. Professors Terry Roller and Virgina Green teach graphic design courses in the lab, including Digital Media, Identity Design, Type & Image, Web Design, Package Design and Portfolio Preparation.

Taking advantage of current technology, the faculty push the instructor's display to the student monitors while teaching. This capability allows an effective, controlled setting for lectures.

Photographer Bob Smith manages the Graphic Design Lab, as well as the adjoining Digital Photography Lab. According to Mr. Smith, the demand for both labs is self-evident as student traffic and classes are steady and, at times, push capacity. The faculty credit Mr. Smith with keeping the computers running smoothly and ensuring the continued success of these facilities.
