Baylor University fashion majors Meg Quinius, Kaylyn Smith and Anna Morrison took home awards from Fashion Group International of Dallas' 42nd Annual Career Day on April 9 at Dallas Market Center's Grand Pavilion at the Trade Mart.
Fashion Group's Career Day Dallas is the longest-running and largest fashion career event of its kind in the country. The day of seminars, exhibits and keynote speakers culminates with a runway fashion show featuring the winners of the fashion design scholarship competition in several categories.
Quinius received second place in the Career Garment category. Smith received second place in the Four-Legged Fashion Fund Canine Couture category. Morrison received second place in the Texas Department of Agriculture Trend Board competition in the
Wool Trend Boards category.
Dallas Career Day is was created to provide philanthropic educational outreach for college and university students seeking careers in the fashion and lifestyle industries.
Students heard keynote speeches from Dallas Career Day alumni, including Lifetime Television's Project Runway contestant Shirin Askari of Dallas and New York designer Jodi Arnold, a 1988 Baylor fashion design graduate.
FGI Dallas is a global, nonprofit, professional organization with more than 6,000 members representing all areas of the fashion industry. It provides a forum to promote the fashion business by hosting events that educate and promote the exchange of ideas.
