Dr. Byron Johnson, co-director of Baylor's Institute for Studies of Religion and director of the ISR Program on Prosocial Behavior, presented research on Violence Free Zones during a summit on youth violence in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Jay Yoo, assistant professor of Fashion Merchandising, was awarded "Best Paper" in the category of psychological/social category by the International Textiles and Apparel Association. The ITAA conference recognizes participant's papers in areas such as consumer behavior, textile and apparel science, and psychological aspects.
Co-author Mia Moody, Ph.D., an education and journalism graduate from Baylor, is now a professor of journalism who teaches courses on minorities in the media, reporting and public relations at Baylor. Co-author Bruce Dorries, Ph.D, earned his BA in journalism and history at Baylor.
Joe Fulton, professor of English at Baylor University, recently was named the winner of the 2010 Jules and Frances Landry Award for Best Book on Southern studies for "The Reconstruction of Mark Twain."
