GREETINGS FROM THE CHAIR
|
Welcome to the Department of Art at Baylor University. In a world of intense visual stimulation, there is an increasing demand for studio artists and art historians. If your talents and interests lie in these areas, if creativity or the study of creativity excites you, a diverse, dedicated and gifted faculty awaits you here. The department offers undergraduate degrees in studio and art history. Classes are small. Personal attention is assured. whether working in traditional media on paper or canvas, or preferring clay, fibers, metal, wood or manipulation of pixels on a computer screen, fine and applied artists define visual environments and reflect social fabric. Art historians are in demand for teaching, publishing, museum/gallery work and in related careers as conservators, preparators, commentators, and corporate art consultants. Come and acquire technical skills necessary to work creatively and or to prepare for advanced study. Come and experience the Department of Art at Baylor. Sincerely, John D. McClanahan Professor and Chair of the Department of Art and Director of the Allbritton Art Institute |
