Lieutenant Colonel John Agor - Aviation Speciality

Lieutenant Colonel John S. Agor enlisted in the Army in 1983 and served as a Helicopter Crew Chief with B Co. 229th Attack Helicopter Battalion Ft. Campbell KY, until he accepted a ROTC scholarship to Purdue University. LTC Agor received a Regular Army commission and returned to active duty in 1989. He is a graduate of the Aviation Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Command and General Staff College, and has completed the Maintenance Manager/Maintenance Test Pilot Course for OH-58’s, UH-1’s and UH-60’s.
During LTC Agor’s initial assignment he served as a scout platoon leader, and then AVUM XO and Battalion OH-58 Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP) and Maintenance Evaluator (ME) for 1st Battalion, 24th Aviation Regiment, Hunter Army Airfield Ga. Following the Advance course he was assigned as the Maintenance Officer and UH-1 MTP and ME for the Aviation Support Company, Sinai Egypt. Upon returning from Egypt, LTC Agor was assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division he was the Production Control Officer for F Company 227th,, he then commanded D Company, 1st Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, and later served as the 4th Brigade S-4. LTC Agor was also the Division UH-1 and OH-58C MTP and ME until both airframes were removed from service in the 1st Cav. LTC Agor then moved to the University of Scranton ROTC Department as a Recruiting Officer, Training Officer and then Executive Officer.
After completion of the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, LTC Agor returned to the 1St Cav and assumed command of A Company, 615th Aviation Support Battalion and deployed the 250 soldier company to Camp Taji Iraq in support of OIF II. LTC Agor was also charged with all downed aircraft recovery operations for the 1st Cav during the deployment. LTC Agor has been the Professor of Military Science at Texas Christian University since July of 2005.
LTC Agor has a BA in Psychology from Purdue University and an MBA from The University of Scranton.
His awards and decorations include: The Senior Aviators Badge, Air Assault Badge, Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal 1st Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal 3rd Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal 2nd Oak leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service and Expeditionary medals, Overseas Ribbon and Multinational Forces and Observers Ribbon with Numeral 2.
His wife of twenty years is the former Kathleen Koenig. They have three sons: Timothy, Samuel and Chad. |
Command Sergeant Major Retired (CSM Ret) Fidel Gomez
Command Sergeant Major Retired (CSM Ret) Fidel Gomez is a native of Bakersfield, California. He graduated from Shafter High School and enlisted into the US Army in 1984 and served in Infantry, light Infantry, Airborne Infantry, Mechanized Infantry and the new Brigade Combat Team Combined Arms battalion units. CSM Ret Gomez successfully served in every enlisted leadership position from Team Leader through Command Sergeant Major and successfully completed the Ranger, Airborne, Air assault, and Jumpmaster Courses. His deployments include:

- Iraq
He is married to Susan Gomez of California for 25 years and raised a daughter Jessica and son Marc. CSM Gomez retired from active duty in August 2008, settled in Waco, Texas and is currently contracted as a Military Science Instructor for ROTC. |
