About the Bear Battalion

The Baylor Bear Battalion Overview

The Baylor Bear Battalion Headquarters is located at Baylor University in Waco, TX. It has produced outstanding Army officers since 1891. Baylor University and it's Army ROTC program prepares students to be innovators and leaders capable of leading at multiple echelons in both the military and civilian sectors.

We produce lieutenants for the active Army, the National Guard, and the US Army Reserves; each with a broad range of perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds who:

1. Demonstrate a capacity for scholastic, athletic, and leadership excellence.
2. Are confident that they will be competent Army leaders as a result of the rigor of the program.
3. Are committed to the Army for the duration of their obligation, and open-minded about further service.
4. Bring experiential, ethical, and cultural diversity to the Officer Corps.
5. Provide leadership on the Baylor Campus and in the community in various outside organizations and events.
