Engage and Transform

Lynne Hybels, advocate for global engagement at Willow Creek Community Church, spoke at The Next Big Idea Conference, Feb. 9-11. Hybels described the ways Willow Creek has partnered with organizations in Latin America and Africa to address poverty and injustice issues. Close to 225 people participated in the event that challenged church, denominational and non-profit leaders to think of new ways to engage and transform communities locally and globally.Sponsored by Baylor's School of Social Work, George W. Truett Theological Seminary and the Leadership Network, the conference also featured Kay Warren, HIV/AIDS activist from Saddleback Church, and Eric Swanson and Rick Rusaw, authors of The Externally Focused Church.
