A minor in anthropology provides students a broad introduction to the discipline, without requiring the more specialized courses in the major. It designed to be complimentary to almost any other major, grounding students in the fundamentals of the while opening their minds to an anthropological perspective. The only required class for the minor Introduction to Anthropology. Nine additional hours in anthropology classes can be chosen from any of the upper level courses.
Requirements:
Eighteen semester hours including the following:
- ANT 1305 Introduction to Anthropology
- A minimum of nine semester hours must be "3000" or "4000" level anthropology courses.
Professional anthropologist: The student who pursues the anthropology major will be prepared to enter graduate study with sufficient training in the basic areas of anthropology. It is suggested that the student take additional courses in related social, biological, and behavioral sciences.
**Note: ANT 1305 or consent of instructor is prerequisite to all "4000" level anthropology courses. ANT 3330 and 4355 are for Forensic Science, Anthropology, and Archaeology majors only. ANT 2357, 2390, 2391, 2392 are for Forensic Science majors only.
