Professional Development Opportunities on Campus

Day of the Advisor - The sixth annual Day of the Advisor was held on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. This annual spring program is designed as an opportunity for interaction and for professional development for any university faculty and staff who serve as academic advisors or who support academic advising at Baylor. The Academic Advising Council sponsors three professional development sessions, a luncheon, and in February 2011, a special original musical production by Baylor SHOWTIME!, directed by Daniel Farris.  Previous keynote speakers include Dr. Wes Habley (2008), Shawn Achor (2009), Grant Teaff (2010) and Dr. Kim Scott (2013).  Click here for additional information about Day of the Advisor.

ADVISE - Advisors Discussing Various Issues and Sharing Experiences - These programs, designed for all faculty and staff who provide academic advising for Baylor students or who support academic advising at Baylor, are a series of "brown bag" lunch or afternoon programs hosted each semester by University Advisement. HRCLL training seminars and workshops - (Human Resources Center for Learning and Leadership) - Numerous seminars, worshops, and training sessions are available throughout the year and advisors are encouraged to take advantage of these opportunities for professional development.
