Growing up in Round Rock, Texas, Travis had always heard of Baylor, but he had never thought of attending the university as a student. It wasn't until his high school marching band tech (a Baylor student) encouraged him to visit that Travis fell in love with the atmosphere, the academics and the size of the university. "It was small enough that I felt known, but big enough that I could meet new people," Travis said.
As a student, Travis served on the Baylor Chamber of Commerce as the Lead Bear Trainer for two years. In this role, Travis was responsible for giving the bears daily care, making presentations to the public, speaking to small groups from schools and training the bears how to Sic 'Em and smile.
Now as an Admissions Counselor, Travis is passionate about working with students. "It was one of the best choices of my life to come to Baylor," Travis said. "If I can tell students about my journey, I can help them discover if Baylor is the right place for them."
