Asian Studies

The Asian Studies major is designed to provide students with a solid foundation to pursue careers in government service, business, and nongovernmental organizations, as well as for graduate study. The program encompasses economics, foreign languages, history, political science, sociology, and religion. Available courses include:

  • Societies and Cultures of East Asia
  • World Religions
  • Politics and Problems of Developing Countries
  • Traditional Music and Culture in Asia
  • Asian Literature in Translation

Though not required, students are encouraged to study abroad. Baylor offers several study abroad programs located throughout Asia, including China, Korea and Japan.

Baylor University also offers several Living-Learning Centers. These LLC's are housing opportunities designed to place students of common interests together in living and learning environments. Baylor offers a Global Community Living-Learning Center. Although available for all majors and classifications, the Global LLC is ideal for students majoring in a foreign language and wishing to put their skill into practice.
