Risk Management and Insurance

The Risk Management and Insurance major focuses on the financial and economic characteristics of potential exposures to loss faced by firms and individuals. Students are taught how to minimize the costs associated with these exposures, both conceptually and technically. Available courses include:

  • Fundamentals of Life and Health Insurance
  • Fundamentals of Property and Liability Insurance
  • Employee Benefit Planning
  • Business Risk Management
  • Principles of Risk Management and Insurance

Individuals graduating with Risk Management degrees can expect to find career opportunities in various financial service industries such as insurance, banking, pensions, and investment management. Increasingly, non-financial service companies are recognizing the importance of enterprise-wide risk management as well and thus are turning to business schools for trained risk managers.

The Hankamer School of Business offers several summer and semester study abroad programs all over the world as well as student exchange programs.
