Credit By Exam

At Baylor, credit can be earned for a course by taking any of several examinations that test for the content of that course. Individual academic departments select the exams they will accept and they set levels of performance required for credit.

We accept certain Advanced Placement (AP) exam results, College Level Examination Program (CLEP) subject exam results and SAT II scores, some International Baccalaureate (IB) results and various departmental exam scores. Semester hours of credit are awarded through credit-by-exam, but a letter grade is not assigned. Your scores will be sent to Baylor in the summer, so you don't have to worry about sending them in before then.

We also offer residual SAT and ACT testing on campus, however the results from residual testing at Baylor can only be used for admissions at our university.

For more information on Credit by Exam or residual testing, visit Baylor's Institutional Research and Testing.
