How to Apply for Aid

To be awarded for the Regents' Gold Baylor Scholarship, you must be a National Merit Finalist as determined by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. In addition, you must list Baylor as your first-choice school with the corporation by their deadline.

The Regents' Gold Scholarship cannot be awarded until our office receives the official list of National Merit Finalists who have listed Baylor as their first-choice school.

If you are a National Merit Finalist, and you list Baylor as your first-choice school, then you will be awarded the scholarship.

Merit-based Baylor Scholarships

By applying for admission, you have already applied for merit-based Baylor scholarships. There is no additional application required.

These scholarships include the President's Gold, Provost's Gold, and Deans' Gold Scholarships.

Federal and Need-based Aid Programs

To be considered for federal and need-based financial aid including federal loans, federal and state grants, and need-based Baylor scholarships, you must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with accurate, completed 2008 tax information. There is no fee to file the FAFSA.

The 2009-2010 application is now available to complete online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Aid for the 2009 Summer semester is based on the 2008-09 FAFSA.

Aid for the 2009-10 academic year (2009 Fall, 2010 Spring, 2010 Summer) is based on the 2009-10 FAFSA.

Please be aware that fafsa.com is a commercial website and charges a fee to file your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Outside Scholarships

If you receive an outside scholarship (a scholarship funded from a source outside Baylor University), then you must submit to the Cashier's Office a completed Outside Scholarship Report Form. If you receive more than one outside scholarship, you will need to submit a form for each individual scholarship.
