Describe Baylor in One Word:

Community!

Why Statistics?

I majored in Applied Mathematics as an undergrad at Baylor and as much as I loved it, I wasn't sure where that would take me as far as a career. I loved the Statistics classes I had taken and there had been so many articles in the news about how Statistics was one of the fastest growing career paths, so it seemed logical to go into a field that was growing, had jobs, and was doing something that I enjoyed.

Faculty:

Baylor has faculty that cares. They want you to do well. They want you to succeed. They want you to be the best that you can be and they believe their job here is to help you!

Why Baylor?

I went to Baylor for undergraduate and had the opportunity through my degree in Applied Mathematics to take 18+ hours of Statistics courses. Through these courses I had the opportunity to see how kind and caring the faculty were. They were always so concerned about both students learning the material and their well-being. When I was asked to apply for the program in Statistics I jumped at the opportunity to continue on at Baylor and join such a great program.

Baylor Community:

Even though people say Waco isn't as great as Austin or the DFW area, there is so much community among the people here. We are all in this together and I have made such great friends that I do everything with.

Recommend Program:

Yes, of course! The program is like a family. Everyone looks out for everyone else and it isn't a cutthroat competition.
