Requirements for a Major in Religion

Core Curriculum Prerequisites:

REL 1310	Introduction to Christian Scripture	3 hours
REL 1350	Introduction to Christian Heritage	3 hours

Thirty semester hours including the following:

A. REL 3305 (or 3319)	Interpreting the Old Testament (or Interpreting the New Testament)	3 hours
B. REL 3330	Introduction to Church History	3 hours
C. REL 3351 (or 3390)	Introduction to Christian Theology (or Christian Ethics)	3 hours
D. REL 3345	Religions of the World	3 hours
E. REL 4399	Senior Seminar	3 hours

F. Nine semester hours from one of the following concentrations.
One course in the concentration must be taken at the 4000 level.

BIBLE
One course from:	REL 4302, 4305, 4315	3 hours
Two courses from:	REL 3301, 3303, 3304, 3311, 3312, 3314, 3315, 4302, 4305, 4315	3 hours
THEOLOGY AND ETHICS

One course from:	REL 3351 or 3390 (the course not taken in section C above)	3 hours
Two courses from:	REL 3352, 3370, 3394, 4350, 4351, 4352, 4353, 4353, 4354, 4388, 4390, 4393, 4395, 4397	3 hours
HISTORY
One course from:	REL 3338, 3344, 4338	3 hours
One course from:	REL 4331, 4332, 4333	3 hours

PRACTICAL STUDIES
One course from:	REL 4340	3 hours
Two courses from:	REL 2480, 3381, 3382	3-4 hours
WORLD RELIGIONS

G. Three semester hours of additional 4000 level religion elective.

H. Three semester hours of additional any level religion elective.
(REL 1310 and 1350 will not apply here.)

I. A grade of "C" or better in religion courses used for the major.

Requirements for a Minor in Religion

Eighteen semester hours including the following:

A. REL 1310 and 1350

B. 9 semester hours of 3000-4000 level religion electives.

C. 3 semester hours of additional any level religion electives.
Note: It is strongly recommended that Ministry Students use either REL 2480 or REL 3381 as their
elective course in the minor.

D. A grade of "C" or better in religion courses used for this minor.
