ITINERARY: Our five-week -- July 9 to August 10, 2014 -- trip will include stays in Swansea (Wales), Oxford, and London. Day trips will include an visit to Shakespeare's birthplace, Stratford-upon-Avon, including seeing performance at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
Outside of class time, we will have group visits to cathedrals, museums, and historic sites of literary and artistic importance. You can expect to see Westminster Abbey, the National Gallery, the New Globe Theatre, and much more.
In addition there will be faculty-led three-day excursions to the Edinburgh (Scotland) and Canterbury.
Other fun day trips from Oxford include the city of Bath, home of Jane Austen and site of ancient Roman ruins; The Kilns, home of C.S. Lewis; Windsor Castle; and pre-historic Avebury.
You will also want to leave plenty of time to soak up Oxford itself, renowned for book shops, concerts, cafes, and Shakespeare in the park.
