Kathy McNeil, coloratura soprano, joined the Baylor University voice faculty in 2013. A versatile performer, Professor McNeil has appeared as soloist in oratorio, recital, and opera performances in Germany, Austria, Saudi Arabia, the Czech Republic, Honduras, Canada, and throughout the United States. Her operatic credits include the roles of Marie in La Fille du Régiment, Violetta in La Traviata, the First Lady in Die Zauberflöte, and Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus. Professor McNeil has twice been selected the winner of the National Association of Teachers of Singing Texoma region Young Artist Competition, winner of the Mobil Austria “Meistersinger" competition, and a finalist in the San Antonio Opera Guild competition. This year, she had the pleasure of serving on the faculty at the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) summer vocal program in Graz Austria. Many of Professor McNeil’s students have been first place winners at the National Association of Teachers of Singing student auditions and competitions in the US and Austria. Others are actively performing in opera houses in Germany, Japan, Austria, England, and the US.
