Ms. Paula McKay Hoover

Adjunct Lecturer in Music Education

Paula McKay Hoover is a public school elementary music specialist with over twenty years of teaching experience. She has served as a part-time lecturer for the music education division since 1995. Mrs. Hoover holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education and Church Music from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. Further study includes graduate work in music education at Baylor University and completion of Levels I & II in Orff-Schulwerk. She was honored as the "Elementary Teacher of the Year" for Texas Region XII in 1992. Mrs. Hoover has co-presented workshops on field-based education and professional development schools at both the state and national level.(/p>

Elementary music education courses taught by Mrs. Hoover are conducted in a field-based setting at Hillcrest Professional Development School in the Waco Independent School District. Baylor students are afforded the opportunity to gain authentic experience as they both observe and teach elementary school children throughout the semester.
