Rick Carpenter is the Performance/Facility Recording Studio Manager for Baylor University School of Music. Rick began working in the audio production field in 1978. His experience includes engineering for studio & live recordings, live broadcasts, A/V presentations, front of house & monitor engineering for live productions & entertainers. In addition to engineering, his experience also includes production management, technical direction & consultation, systems packaging, operation & maintenance, permanent systems installation, recording studio construction, as well as residential & commercial electrical work. In 1990 Rick began doing extensive touring with national & international artists. His touring has included America, Canada, South America, Europe, & Africa.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the operations of all School of Music recording services
• Recruit, train, schedule, & supervise large groups of student workers for recording, post production, duplication, labeling/packaging & office management
• Coordinate & conduct the recording, mastering, duplication, labeling & packaging of all ensemble, guest, student & faculty concerts & recitals
• Coordinate & conduct all mobile recordings on & off campus
• Coordinate & conduct all non BUSM recording events
• Oversee & maintain a system of efficiency & quality control
• Oversee general maintenance & repair of recording equipment
• Supervise purchase & installation of new recording equipment
• Provide support for Music at Baylor radio program
