Kenneth Hafertepe is chair of the department of museum studies. He has taught at Baylor since 2000. For ten years prior to that he was director of academic programs at Historic Deerfield, a museum of New England history and art. He serves as the chair of the Committee on Museum Professional Training of the American Association of Museums. A long-time member of the Texas State Historical Association, he has served on several program committees and chaired that committee twice. He is also a longtime member of the Society of Architectural Historians, the VAF and TAM. He is the author of numerous books and articles on such historic buildings as the Smithsonian Castle, the French Legation in Austin, and the Spanish Governor's Palace in San Antonio, as well as a biography of Abner Cook, the architect of the Texas Governor's Mansion. He holds the master's and doctoral degrees in American civilization from the University of Texas at Austin. His areas of specialization include American material culture, decorative arts, and historic preservation.

Ellie Caston is the director of the Mayborn Museum Complex at Baylor University and senior lecturer in the department of museum studies. She previously served as director of operations at the Strecker Museum – the pre-cursor to the Mayborn Museum. She has also served as executive director of the Gregg County Historical Museum in Longview, Texas and of the Virginia Association of Museums. She has served as president, vice president, and member of the council of the Texas Association of Museums. She holds the master's degree in museum sciences and the doctoral degree in fine arts from Texas Tech University. Her specialties include museum education.

Julie Holcomb is lecturer in the department of museum studies. She worked as director of the Pearce Collections Museum at Navarro College. She edited the book Southern Sons, Northern Soldiers: The Civil War Letters of the Remley Brothers, 22nd Iowa Infantry and has contributed to other publications about the antebellum and Civil War periods. She holds the degree of master in library and information science from the University of Texas at Austin and is currently at work on her doctoral dissertation in history at the University of Texas at Arlington. She interned at the Center for American History at UT, the Catholic Archives of Texas, and the Austin Museum of Art. Her specialties include collections management and archival administration.

Gary Smith is president and executive director of Dallas Heritage Village at Old City Park. Prior to that he was director of the McFaddin-Ward House in Beaumont, one of the leading historic house museums in Texas. He has also worked at the Missouri Historical Society as curator of museum collections, chief curator and finally director of museum and public programs. He has been involved in the Texas Association of Museums in a wide variety of roles, including president, vice president, and member of the council. He holds the master's degree in American history and museum administration from the University of Delaware. Hs specialties include museum administration.
