Recycling Campaign

Continuous Campaign (starting Fall 2003)

We will be starting a continuous recycling program through TMS.  There are many recycling resources on campus that most students do not know about.  Baylor-sponsored paper recycling containers throughout campus that are marked "Baylor Recycles."  Many departmental offices and some residence halls have paper recycling containers, also.  Habitat for Humanity sponsors aluminum can recycling receptacles throughout campus and even in some nearby apartment complexes' offices and the Pan-Hellenic Building.  ECO (Environmental Concern Organization) sponsors and runs the Recycling Center on Baylor campus.  The Recycling Center is made of specially marked dumpsters and is located behind the Goebel building.

Please collect these items from your daily use, and please encourage your roommates and friends to do so also.  Take these items to the appropriate facilities, or you may bring these items to the weekly Magellan meetings (please rinse out milk jugs, cans, bottles), and a representative will take the recyclables to the Recycling Center.  Every little bit helps the environment, so please recycle.

The ECO Recycling Center accepts:
Milk Jugs (please rinse with water), Clear Plastic (i.e. empty water bottles, 2-liter soda containers, etc with recycling marking), Aluminum Cans

PLEASE NOTE:

Because of lack of space, the ECO Student Recycling Center no longer accepts paper, cardboard, or newspapers, BUT PLEASE PLACE RECYCLABLE PAPER AND CARDBOARD IN THE BAYLOR PAPER RECYCLING BIN NEXT TO THE ECO STUDENT RECYCLING CENTER.  Thanks!

The ECO Recycling Center DOES NOT accept:
Tin Cans, Glass, Colored plastics, Food, Plastic Grocery Bags.

Please take tin cans, glass, or colored plastics to a major recycling center.  There are several located in the city of Waco.  Also, you can take your plastic grocery sacs back to the grocery store.  Most grocery stores have recycling containers near the entrance.
