Week 2

  • iPodder 2.0
Streaming audio programs on the Web are of great interest to many, and range from those programs sponsored by various policy institutes to popular music programs. Unfortunately, sometimes individuals cannot be present when their favorite programs are broadcast over the Internet. Stepping in to assist users is iPodder 2.0, which allows them to select and download audio files from anywhere on the Internet to their desktops. Also, users can use the application to download various audio files at specific times as well. iPodder 2.0 is compatible with Windows 2000 or XP and Mac OS 10.3 or newer.

Week 3

  • The James Madison Papers
In this remarkable new digital collection, the American Memory Project at the Library of Congress presents over 12,000 items in some 72,000 digital images that offer a detailed and authoritative portrait of the man who is often referred to as the "Father of the Constitution".The collection itself is organized into six series, and it begins with a selection of his father's letters and continues all the way to the postwar years of his presidency. The digital collection is further enhanced by four nice essays, including an introductory piece by John C.A. Stagg and a rather intriguing piece on the ciphers used by Madison in his correspondence.

Week 4

  • Newseum
The Newseum's primary focus is to celebrate the First Amendment both in its museum and on its well-designed and informative website. Visitors to their homepage will want to begin by looking at the "Today's Front Pages" feature, where they may view the front pages of over 300 US and international newspapers. Moving on, visitors can also view a number of nice online exhibits, such as one that features photographs that have received the Pulitzer Prize and a fine exhibit on D-Day.
