OrganizationsJournalism & Media Arts students have plenty of opportunities to get involved on campus. Student life at Baylor University is non-stop and caters to every interest.
Organizations within the department help students make contacts with professionals in the journalism and public relations world. Organizations include:PRSSA
Public Relations Society of America. The purpose of PRSSA is to provide public relations majors and other students interested in the profession with opportunities to expand their common interest, to connect with a dedicated national association, to serve the community through public relations projects and to expand their understanding of this unique and growing profession.
Society of Professional Journalists. Baylor SPJ Chapter members meet monthly to hear a speaker on a timely journalistic topic. Members also participate in service projects for the Journalism Department.
National Association of Black Journalists. NABJ is an organization of journalists, students and media-related professionals that provides quality programs and services to and advocates on behalf of black journalists worldwide.
National Association of Hispanic Journalists. NAHJ is dedicated to the recognition and professional advancement of Hispanics in the news industry

Baylor Oso PR
Baylor Oso Public Relations is a fully functional student-run public relations agency. Our goal is to give students the opportunity to develop strong leadership skills and serve as a bridge between the classroom and the workplace. We serve clients who are affiliated with Baylor University and also plan to serve nonprofit organizations within the community in the future as our agency grows. All public relations services are free of charge. Baylor Oso Public Relations is a course offered by the Baylor Journalism, Public Relations and New Media department. Our account executives are all members of the Baylor student chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America and have agreed to follow the organization's code of ethics in our client work.
