Inventory Reports

Computers - In order to have an accurate count of computers in a department, LANDesk must be installed and the custom data form completed or updated with the correct information on each device. Instructions for updating custom data can be found under access the LANDesk Information on the ITS website under the "Services" section.

The replacement level of the computers in the report is determined by the BUID tag number. If this information is missing, the computer level will be listed as "Unknown.”

The last two columns in the inventory report provide information when computers should be replaced. The first column is for the current budget year while the second column is for the upcoming budget year and should be used for budget prep planning (9756).

• All Category 1 or primary computers are on a four-year replacement cycle and should be replaced the budget year they reach a Level D classification.

• All Category 2-8 computers are on a five-year replacement cycle and should be replaced the budget year they reach a Level E classification.

• Any computer donated or obtained through grants must also comply with the hardware support and replacement guidelines.

Printers - All departmental printers should be equipped with duplex paper trays. Departmental printers have a five-year cycle and should be replaced the budget year they reach a Level E classification.

Any printers donated or obtained through grants must also comply with the hardware support and replacement guidelines.

Tablets - iPads will be designated S (supported) or NS (non-supported). Tablet iPads that are no longer support the current iOS version need to be replaced. All tablets should be replaced the budget year they reach a Level NS classification.
