For faculty and staff, it is best that your computer be on campus and connected to the network when you change your password. By doing this, you can be sure that the new password will be propagated through all of the Baylor systems that use the BearID password for access.
If you are traveling, using a an Internet Service Provider other than Baylor and you are unable to log into your e-mail (or some other Baylor system), your password has probably expired. You will have to reset your password. Go to the password reset page. After verifying your identity, you will be instructed to answer the security questions that you chose when you originally set your BearID password. Once the correct answers are verified, you will be instructed to set a new password.
If you are traveling, using a an Internet Service Provider other than Baylor and you decide to change your password (even though it still works), go to the password change page. This will change your password for Baylor applications such as e-mail, Blackboard, BearSpace, etc.
If you change your password while your are traveling, the next time you use your computer, you will need to use your old password to log into the computer on start-up (after pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del). Use your new password to log into e-mail, Blackboard, BearSpace, etc. Once you return to campus and connect your computer to the network, all passwords using the BearID will be re-synchronized.
