Pigskin Revue

Pigskin Revue is an annual Homecoming tradition showcasing the winning acts from the previous spring's All University Sing competition. The performances--two on Friday night and one on Saturday--are musical, Broadway-style acts prepared and performed by campus organizations, complete with costumes, elaborate backdrops and props, and complex choreography.

Pigskin Revue was established in 1958 by Marie Mathis, director of the Student Union Building who also founded All University Sing, as a way to increase the quality of Sing acts and to showcase winners from the previous year. Originally, the winning acts were awarded a loving cup and--with the exception of the first year--prize money. Currently, the top eight Sing acts are awarded $1,000 in prize money and invited back to showcase their performance during Homecoming weekend.

Lacking the fierce competition of All University Sing, Pigskin Revue has a more relaxed atmosphere, but it's not without hard work. Since organizations change members over the summer, new members have to learn the act for the first time.

Pigskin has become a vital part of Homecoming, and tickets are always in high demand. One prime benefit of membership in the Baylor Alumni Association is the opportunity to purchase Pigskin tickets before the general public, and students always perform to enthusiastic, sell-out crowds.
