Step 4. Contact Recommenders
Contact recommenders to write letters of recommendation. It is your responsibility to notify recommenders that you have listed them as references. It is also your responsibility to notify your recommenders of the application deadline.
Baylor University
Graduate Admissions
One Bear Place #97264
Waco, Texas 76798-7264
Applications submitted through the Apply Texas Application system will not have access to the online recommendation tool. Three letters of recommendation should be submitted. Hankamer School of Business requires two letters of recommendation.
- While letters of recommendation will vary in content from discipline to discipline recommendations should:
- Address your potential for success in the graduate program to which you have applied.
- Address your academic accomplishments and preparedness for graduate study.
- Come from professors, employers or other individuals qualified to accurately assess your academic or professional skills.
- The Graduate School does not use recommendation forms.
- As part of the Graduate School's online application, you can list your recommender's email address and send them an email containing instructions and a link to a web page where they can submit their letter of recommendation online. You have the option to send them the email in advance of your online application; therefore allowing your recommender more time to submit their recommendation. Once you have submitted their name, they will receive an email from Graduate_Admissions@baylor.edu. You should let your recommenders know to be on the lookout for this email. Log in to the online graduate application for more details.
If your recommender submits his or her letter using the online recommendation tool, please do not submit a paper copy. If necessary, recommenders may provide recommendations either in a sealed envelope, signed across the seal, to the applicant for submission to the Graduate School or may be sent by the recommender via email as a scanned image to Graduate_Admissions@baylor.edu (high quality image >=200dpi; .pdf, .jpg, .gif, .tif, .bmp), via fax to (254) 710-3870, or via mail. Letters should include the full name, title and mailing address of the recommender. Letters should also include the full name of the applicant and degree to which the applicant is applying.Mail to:
