Environmental StandardsEmissions from the Baylor Energy Complex plant presently fall under the guidelines of the permit issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. The permit is a renewable operating permit governing all air emissions for the Baylor Energy Complex plant as well as the entire campus.
The renewable operating permit issued to the Energy Complex plant is part of the overall Title V air emissions program administered by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
The permit number is Tile V #O-01872 / Texas #40418.
Source Registration Number (SRN) is RN 102511714.
This renewable operating permit is on a 5 year cycle and went into effect Aug. 2002 and is scheduled to expire Aug. 2007.
This permit allows the burning of both natural gas and diesel fuel oil in the Energy Complex plant under certain conditions and limitations as defined in the permit.
Though not issued in a specific permit format, the wastewater discharged from the Energy Complex plant falls under the criteria established by the City of Waco Wastewater Department. This department has established specific wastewater discharge limitations on pH and temperature, in addition to metals content that must be complied with.
