Facility Services

The mission of Baylor Facility Services is to operate and enhance the physical assets of the Baylor campus providing a quality environment that will ecourage academic excellence within a Christian framework.

The Facility Services Plant at Baylor University is responsible for operating and maintaining the physical environment of the Campus Community. This includes:

114 buildings (7.2 million sq/ft) at an estimated value of $1 Billion Dollars
725 acres of grounds
7.6 miles of roadways
14+ miles of walkways

9.74 miles of underground electrical cable
3.00 miles of overhead electrical cable
4.39 miles of steam and condensate lines
6.67 miles of chilled water lines

14.5+ miles of water lines
12.5+ miles of sewer lines
10.5+ miles of storm piping

The staff of 125 employees consists of engineers, technicians, skilled craft persons and others with the skills and abilities to maintain the wide variety of buildings and equipment on the campus. These services must be provided in a manner, which minimizes disruption of the research, instructional and public service missions of the University.
