The PhoenixThe Phoenix, a student-run magazine of Baylor University, has been a forum for students to publish their literary and artistic work for over 50 years. Each year, the magazine publishes a variety of original, unpublished pieces produced by undergraduate and graduate students, including (but not necessarily limited to) poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, drawings, paintings, photography and lithography.
Submissions are reviewed by an editorial panel of students in each category, and every piece receives detailed consideration, whether or not it is accepted for publication.
Any undergraduate or graduate student may apply to be on the editorial board or submit manuscripts for publication. The editors of The Phoenix gain valuable experience by editing the pieces and deciding which will be accepted by the magazine and which will be rejected.
The Phoenix also awards a "Top Submission" in each of the three categories: poetry, prose and art & photography. They are voted on by the editorial panel and chosen by an outside judge. SUBMIT HERE: Email your submission to one of the following categories. You must send your submission using a Baylor email address (i.e. John_Doe@baylor.edu). Poetry: phoenixpoetry13@gmail.com Prose: phoenixprose13@gmail.com Art & Photography: phoenixartphoto13@gmail.com Thank you!
For more information/to apply for a staff position contact the faculty sponsor, Mr. Mark Olsen at Mark_Olsen@baylor.edu or the student editor at Caitlin_Nowak@baylor.edu.
