Faculty Partners
Who are Faculty Partners?
Every Faculty Partner has his or her own niche and style. When previous Faculty Partners were asked to describe their roles, they included words like mentor, friend, life coach, resource, and support.
History and Purpose Campus Living & Learning launched the Faculty Partner (FP) program in 2004. Since then, our residence halls have been impacted by the involvement of these faculty members who give of themselves to enrich the collegiate experience of hundreds of students.
The purpose of the FP program is to promote a more personalized university experience through informal student-faculty interaction in the residence halls. The willingness of FPs to share in our pursuit of residential communities that shape, support, and challenge the intellectual pursuits of our students makes a world of difference in the lives of our residents.
One of the unique aspects of the FP program is the flexibility and creativity with which faculty can bring their interests and passions to the program and give students the opportunity to see them from a different perspective. From sponsoring study breaks during finals to attending a Baylor sporting event together, FPs can partner with their residence halls to form mentoring relationships and share their academic expertise with our residents.
