The Baylor Advanced Research Institute (BARI)
functions as a catalyst for creating new and emerging research clusters, interdisciplinary research programs,
and industrial collaborations. BARI involvement with planning and operations of the Baylor Research and Innovation
Collaborative (BRIC) discovery park was a natural 'next' step in advancing the research mission of the university.
BARI brings together the academic and research objectives of the university and engages the community by:
- Providing increased opportunities for Baylor faculty and students to engage in cutting-edge research with industry
- Nurturing and protecting the intellectual property of collaborative research projects
- Facilitating the commercialization of university intellectual property
- Participating in the economic development of the region
BARI remains the nexus point gateway between the university, BRIC and external industry collaboration,
workforce development, and regional/state economic development partners.
