Engineering and BIC: A Perfect Match
by Marilyn Medlock, Class of 2005
BIC takes a hands-on approach to education, encouraging students to experience the world and learn outside the classroom through study sessions, open-ended discussions, and fieldtrips. With diligent studying and an open mind, the benefits from BIC are endless.
Though not many engineering students choose to complement their math and science courses with BIC, I feel like it was a beautiful match. BIC helped me to develop a broad understanding of how groups of people have interacted through history and how religion can be studied from the perspective of its influence on a people's art, customs, laws, and daily habits. My engineering courses developed my technical skills, but BIC helped me discover what the world is really about.
