STEM Ed Journal Club
About
The ATL supports instructor use of evidence-based practices and aims to broaden knowledge, understanding, and engagement with these practices, particularly among STEM faculty. Growing out of the Faculty Interest Groups program, this program offers multiple sections with various topics of emphasis. Participants explore publications related to both scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) and discipline-based education research (DBER) to generate discussion and build a community of support for enacting new teaching methods. We will read and discuss recent publications and book chapters on evidence-based practices specifically applied to STEM courses, including active learning, assessment, writing to learn, etc.
